Prague, neighbourhoods and gardens
An Art Nouveau street, a gallery in a former factory and a hilltop view at the end of the day. Find a Prague that reaches beyond the postcard.
Travellers who enjoy neighbourhood cafés, design, contemporary art and walking. Keep the garden sections weather-dependent and use trams to avoid turning every day into a long hike.
Five full-day ideas to adapt · arrival and departure are additional. Book each service separately.

A little rhythm for your visit
Days with room to breathe.
These are researched possibilities, not an opening-day or availability-checked schedule. Keep what suits your dates and check the linked official information before booking.

Vinohrady: façades, a square and time for lunch
Begin around Náměstí Míru and look at the theatre and surrounding streets before choosing a café. Continue towards Vršovice only as far as your energy allows, with lunch as a proper break. Spend the afternoon around Havlíček Gardens if open and conditions suit, or shorten the walk and browse the neighbourhood. Stay in this part of town for dinner rather than making the Old Town your automatic evening destination.

Karlín’s new chapter
Start around Křižíkova and Karlínské náměstí, looking at how older buildings sit beside the district’s newer life. After lunch, follow part of the official Karlín walking route towards its industrial buildings and cafés. Make the Vítkov climb an optional extension, not a requirement for enjoying the day. Return to a neighbourhood table in the evening; check the actual restaurant and any event independently rather than assuming a programme will be running.

Holešovice: choose one gallery
Make either the National Gallery’s Trade Fair Palace or DOX the morning’s main visit, according to the current exhibitions. These are distinct institutions with separate tickets. Pause for lunch, then explore a selected stretch of Holešovice’s streets and former industrial surroundings. Use a tram for the longer connections instead of attempting every point on a walking map. Finish with a café or dinner nearby before returning to your base.

Letná and a park-led afternoon
Start at Letná with an outdoor walk and views towards the river, choosing a safe, open route for the conditions. Have lunch before continuing towards Stromovka, using transport if you want the parks without a lengthy connecting walk. Spend the afternoon among its paths and open spaces, with a café as a wet-weather alternative. Keep the evening relaxed. Seasonal kiosks and summer beer gardens are possibilities to check, not promised facilities.

The river, through an artist’s eyes
Bring the final day back to the Vltava at Kampa. Walk the public park in the morning, then choose lunch before an optional Museum Kampa visit if its collection appeals. Leave time afterwards to watch the river from land and return to a favourite café. This quieter finish connects the neighbourhood days with Prague’s recognisable setting without adding a hurried castle circuit or implying a sightseeing cruise is included.

The right base changes the day
Where to stay.
Vinohrady near a useful tram or metro stop
A neighbourhood base for cafés and the first day’s streets. Check the gradient and exact transport connection rather than relying on the district name.
Karlín
Useful for a different evening atmosphere and onward city transport. Choose the particular street and room carefully; a district description is not a hotel recommendation.
Areas are editorial suggestions. No room rate or availability is promised; a general hotel search does not preselect your property or dates.
The little discoveries
Leave room for these.
Letná’s public viewpoints
The river panorama can be enjoyed as a park walk. Café purchases and other facilities are optional and may be seasonal.
Karlín’s streets and squares
Follow part of the public neighbourhood route without buying a tour, respecting residential entrances and private buildings.
Start without a rush
The journey in.
Use Prague Airport’s current public-transport guidance: trolleybus 59 connects with metro A and bus 100 with metro B. Match the station and final walk to your Vinohrady or Karlín address.
Keep check-in day separate from the five full days. A nearby dinner is a better first plan than crossing the city for a gallery after a delayed flight.
Check the reverse route and disruptions before departure. If you book an independent private transfer, confirm the exact meeting place and address with the provider.
Choose each part with care
