Privacy & site information

Updated 14 October 2026. This notice describes Votonde’s editorial website and how we handle enquiries. We do not take bookings or payments.

Who is responsible

Steven Saunders trading as Votonde is responsible for the personal information described here. Business correspondence address: 109 Cavell Road, EN7 6JH.

For enquiries or privacy requests, email info@votonde.com.

Browsing Votonde

This editorial version has no customer accounts, enquiry forms, payments, booking checkout or optional visitor analytics. Photography, fonts and film are served by this website. The separate flight-search widget is not loaded in this version.

The application does not set cookies or use local storage. When you press Play or Pause, browser session storage remembers your film preference. Ask Vivienne also uses session storage to remember the preferences, dates, selected idea and optional note you enter, so your plan survives closing the panel, visiting a guide and returning. Reset my plan clears those planning details. They are not sent to Votonde, suppliers or an AI service. Please avoid entering personal or sensitive information and use Reset on a shared device. Session storage normally clears when the tab’s browsing session ends, although browser session restoration can retain it. We also respect reduced-motion settings. This does not mean that the hosting provider collects no information.

When you email us

Emailing us is voluntary. We need a reply address to respond. Your email address, name if supplied, message and any attachments are used solely to answer enquiries and manage conversations, including supplier discussions. We do not use this correspondence for marketing or newsletters at launch. Please do not send passport details, payment information or sensitive travel documents.

Email to info@votonde.com is forwarded by Forward Email to Steven’s personal Outlook.com mailbox, votonde@outlook.com. Steven is the only person with access to the inbox on Votonde’s behalf. He currently makes no exports or separate copies outside Outlook. These arrangements do not exclude processing, security logs or recovery copies maintained by the service providers.

Why we use this information

We rely on legitimate interests to respond to people who contact us, manage those conversations and keep the website and correspondence secure. We limit the information used to what is needed for those purposes. Where a specific legal obligation requires a record, that obligation provides the basis for retaining it. Information needed to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim may be retained separately. There is no automated decision-making or profiling in this version.

How long we keep correspondence

Steven manually deletes closed general enquiries within six months of closure, or sooner if they are no longer needed. This is a manual process, not an automatic deletion feature. Ongoing supplier correspondence is kept while it is needed and reviewed periodically.

Records needed for a specific legal obligation or an unresolved dispute are handled separately and kept only as required for that purpose. Deletion from the mailbox does not necessarily immediately remove provider recovery copies, backups or security records; their retention follows the relevant provider’s arrangements.

Email and hosting providers

Forward Email’s published policy describes its forwarding service as processing messages in memory. It retains delivery-error logs, including envelope and header information but not message bodies or attachments, for seven days. Its documentation also describes anti-abuse caches retained for up to 30 days. See the Forward Email privacy policy and service documentation.

Microsoft stores the delivered correspondence in Outlook.com and processes service and security information under its own arrangements. See the Microsoft privacy statement. Backup and recovery copies may remain under Microsoft’s retention arrangements; we cannot promise a fixed deletion period for those copies.

Vercel is the selected public host. Hosting processes connection and request information, which can include IP addresses, requested URLs, timestamps and technical or security details, to deliver and protect the site. Vercel’s published retention periods differ by service and record type. Security, billing, backup and recovery records may be kept separately from website request logs; we do not promise that all these records are deleted at the same time. See Vercel’s runtime-log documentation and privacy notice.

Processing outside the UK

These providers may process information outside the UK. Forward Email documents US processing; Microsoft and Vercel use international infrastructure. Forward Email’s published terms incorporate its data processing agreement, including UK transfer clauses. Microsoft’s privacy statement describes its participation in the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. Vercel’s data processing addendum describes UK transfer safeguards for its Pro service. These are provider arrangements and do not mean that all information, backups or recovery copies stay in the UK. Contact us using the details above for information about the safeguards relevant to your enquiry.

Your choices and rights

You can ask for access to your personal information, correction, deletion or restriction of its use, and object where we rely on legitimate interests. Other rights, including portability, apply where the legal conditions are met. These rights are subject to applicable exceptions, including records that must be retained by law. Contact info@votonde.com or write to the address above to make a request.

You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). See how to raise a concern with the ICO.

Links to other websites

Tourism and photography links take you to independent websites with their own privacy practices. Our destination ideas are editorial suggestions, not offers of accommodation or other services.

Our hotel and selected activity links are affiliate links through Travelpayouts to Klook. We also link through Travelpayouts to Aviasales for flights and Kiwitaxi for transfers. Optional itinerary dates and the selected day are kept in the page URL to support navigation; these choices are not sent to suppliers by our referral links. The itinerary does not request names, contact details or booking information. When you follow one, your browser connects to those services. They may process your IP address, browser information and referral identifiers, and use cookies under their own privacy and cookie policies to attribute visits and eligible bookings. Votonde may receive referral-performance reports and commission on eligible bookings. We do not load their tracking scripts or embedded booking widgets on this website.

You choose your destination, dates and guests on Klook; our general hotel link does not send those choices. Activity links identify a product page, but you choose the variant, date, guests and currency there. Any booking and payment take place outside Votonde. See the Travelpayouts privacy policy and Klook privacy policy.
