Prague

Let Prague’s towers draw you across the river, then make room for a pause in Kampa Park. This is a city break for people who enjoy exploring on foot, with cafés and waterside moments between the grand views. Give each side of the river its own time; the walk need not end as soon as you have crossed Charles Bridge.

Across the bridge, beside the water

Why put Prague on your list?

  • Old Town Square is a starting point for exploring the historic centre.
  • Charles Bridge links the river experience with a Lesser Town walk.
  • Seasonal markets can complement the city's architecture when they are operating.

Leave space for Kampa

Kampa Park sits on an island beside the Lesser Town waterfront. Work it into a walk across the river and let the park provide a pause between Prague’s better-known views. It is a different pleasure from collecting another landmark: a little time to sit, look around and decide which street to follow next.

Where to stay

Old Town · Consider a stay around the historic heart of Prague.

Lesser Town · A different base across the river for exploring older streets.

A little room for discovery

Three days to make your own

Use these as a starting point for part of your stay. Each visit and journey is something to arrange independently.

  1. Day 1

Begin around Old Town Square, then step into the surrounding streets. Choose a café and leave time to find your own route.

  2. Day 2

Plan a Charles Bridge and Lesser Town walk. Keep the distance realistic for your mobility and pause before heading back across the river.

  3. Day 3

Choose a museum or, during confirmed market dates, a festive visit. Keep the last afternoon convenient for your departure.

Getting around

Check tram and metro routes for longer journeys. Historic streets may involve uneven surfaces and steps, so assess the actual route rather than relying only on walking time in a map app.

Before you choose your dates

Snow is not guaranteed and Christmas markets are seasonal. Confirm opening dates and hours through the official city information when planning a festive break.
