France
Paris
The first glimpse of the Eiffel Tower is only the beginning. A Paris weekend can be a café you return to, a Marais street you take slowly and a museum that changes how you see the city. Come for the landmarks; stay curious about the everyday stories. This escape is for people who would rather know one neighbourhood than hurry through five.

A Paris weekend with a story of its own
Why put Paris on your list?
- The Marais and Saint-Germain-des-Prés offer different neighbourhood rhythms.
- A museum morning pairs naturally with an unhurried café afternoon.
- Riverside walks give a little space between the landmark visits.
Meet the Paris behind the postcard
In the Marais, the Musée Carnavalet tells the history of Paris through objects, paintings and historic interiors, housed in two former mansions. It gives a neighbourhood walk another layer: you can step back into the streets with a sense of the lives that shaped them. Check current visiting arrangements, then leave the rest of the afternoon for the Marais.
Where to stay
Saint-Germain-des-Prés · A Left Bank base for a café-and-culture break.
The Marais · Consider boutique stays among historic streets and galleries.
A little room for discovery
Three days to make your own
Use these as a starting point for part of your stay. Each visit and journey is something to arrange independently.
Day 1
Settle into your neighbourhood and take a Seine-side walk. If the Eiffel Tower is your priority, make that area the focus rather than adding it at the end of a cross-city day.
Day 2
Choose one museum and organise entry independently. Afterwards, leave time to sit down and explore the surrounding streets.
Day 3
Spend a morning in the Marais or Saint-Germain-des-Prés. Pick a manageable route, with enough time to return for your bags before departure.

Getting around
Combine neighbourhood walks with the Métro or buses for longer distances. Check service changes and step-free access before travelling; not every station offers the same facilities. Airport transfers need their own route check.
Before you choose your dates
Museum opening days, exhibitions and admission arrangements vary. Confirm them before fixing your itinerary, and keep a covered or indoor option for a wet afternoon.
